cMyKatz vs cMyZombieKatz (Pt.3)

Halloween is when the dead come back to life! A cMyZombieKat apocalypse is on the horizon.

Just as I have done with Parts 1 & 2, I will keep updating this article to include any how-tos and unanswered questions. Bookmark it and come back to it. If you have questions or suggestions, just drop me a message on Discord — I’ll do my best to add them in.

Key Updates (Amended 13th Oct):

• cMyZombieKatz are announced! Date of drop is still TBD. We have changed the mechanics to remove the need to move Katz around and save on gas.
• You must own a Kat to be eligible to mint a Graveyard and Zombie.
• For the first 1000 Graveyards the number you can mint is limited to the number of Katz you own (1-to-1, 2-to-2, 3-to-3, 10-to-10 etc.).
• If you don’t yet own a Kat, Katz can only be bought on OpenSea.
• Katz should still be staked in exchange for $MIECE, you’re going to need them!
• There is still time to buy Katz off the floor, stake them, and accrue the $MIECE needed to mint cMyZombieKatz.
• The web-based Dapp is now up and running to help with staking and unstaking.
• A new Dapp will drop alongside for the Graveyard and Zombie contract.
• Katz can still be burned, but they will not be exchanged for new ones (they will just disappear from supply, so don’t).

The Story So Far

On the 29th September cMyKatz launched.

My guy #103

I minted #103 and started writing my Part 1 article that evening — I was new to minting directly from contracts so it made sense to document it to help others who had never minted directly from a contract.

I dropped Part 1 on the morning (UTC) of the 30th. 200 Katz were minted. 5 hours later the total initial supply (those that could be minted for ETH) of 2000 were sold out! After 2000, the first big hurdle at 4000 was quickly overcome.

From that point forward the Discord community exploded. Katz were staked in huge numbers to accrue $MIECE, and these were exchanged for more Katz.

Within 36 hours, the whole 10k supply was minted. From the 30th to 2nd the community went on an incredibly bullish run to mint the total supply of Katz, in the process burning 5444 Katz and reducing the total available supply to 4556. 5444 Katz Burned …cMyZombieKatz we Resurrect

Now onto the bit we’ve all been waiting for…

Here’s How it Plays Out:

1. There will be 2 new NFT Contracts. cMyZombieKatz and cMyGraves NFTs are both 100% on-chain and generative. They live as long as Ethereum lives.
2. Only people holding a cMyKatz can mint a Graveyard (Get Katz on OpenSea).
3. Graveyard Supply is fixed at 5,444. The Zombie contract total supply will be higher to make sure mutating is possible.

The First 1000 Graves:

1. Can be minted by Katz holders for $MIECE — Your Kat must be staked to mint.
   (The amount of $MIECE will be decided based on current supply when the drop happens and announced nearer the time).
2. For the first 1000 Graveyards the number you can mint is limited to the number of Katz you own (1-to-1, 2-to-2, 3-to-3, 10-to-10 etc.).
3. You can claim your ZombieKat by calling a contract function to immediately unearth your Zombie and the grave will be burned.
4. If you don’t call for your ZombieKat it will automatically appear after 7 days.
5. You can only mint 1 Graveyard at a time.

The Remaining Graves:

1. Can be minted by Katz holders for $MIECE.
2. They will not be unearthed automatically, or immediately.
3. You will need 2 ZombieKatz to dig a grave.
4. Digging can be sped up by spending $MIECE.
5. To spare gas, you can move zombies to dig from one grave to another one.
6. The rarity of the grave you get will be tied to the rarity of the zombie it has in it.

Burning & Mutating:

1. Don't like your Zombiekat? Burn it, you remember the drill!
2. It will be removed from circulation and give you a new one. — Still don't like your Zombiekat? Mutate it!! —
3. Mutation will retain the token ID, some of your traits will be retained whilst the remaining will be mutated.
4. Mutation costs MIECE and the amount will increase as the mints occur however you will be able to mutate even after the full supply is minted.

After all the cMyKatz Zombies are minted, then we prepare for battle between the living and the dead…

Important Notes:

• Keep staking your Katz and accruing $MIECE.
• No Katz will need to be sent to dig graves — keep them staked.
• cMyZombieKatz will not produce $MIECE, but they will have future utility.
• cMyKatz is 100% on-chain. No IPFS is required. This means they will never go away.

It Doesn’t End There…

Plenty of other events are now in planning, in which both cMyKatz and cMyZombieKatz will have future utility, which you can take forward into new projects. We will release the full roadmap in due course.
