In a short space of time I’ve written about a wide range of different NFTs, but nothing like PIP Cards. I am approached to help new projects articulate their mechanics daily, but I like to maintain my integrity by writing about only what really interests me and my audience; This couldn’t be more true of PIP Cards — I hope you love it.

The team’s plans for PIP Cards are huge!! So big I struggled to get it all into one article. With that, the aim of this article is to give you a flavour for what PIP Cards is all about, whilst future articles will deep dive on specific aspects.

If you like what you see, come and join the Discord and get involved!

What Are PIPS?

PIPS is a first-of-its-kind NFT generative playing card project that will enable custom cards to be used to battle other holders cross-chain, by you, the ‘Sleeper’.

PIPS feature high-quality, custom artwork, quite literally, built to grow (each NFT is a scalable SVG) and will enable each Sleeper to generate an entire deck of completely custom cards (yes an entire deck including jokers!) — the only deck like it in the world.

Each PIP minted will include 3 custom assets, including your custom card (‘Champion’) with all the usual rarities and traits you’d expect of an NFT; an intricate and ornately designed card back; and finally, a PFP friendly version.

And yes, a utility token is also included!

Multi-Chain, Four Kingdoms

Here is my 1 of 1 — A bird (The Hunters will be based on animals) which is a nod to my flying experience, my military experience, and a quill as a nod to my writing

PIPS will be a multi-chain NFT, consisting of 4 chains (‘Kingdoms’); the first Kingdom, ‘The Awakened’, will be accessed on the Kusama Networks Moonriver.

The chains on which the future Kingdoms exist, Hunters, Mystics and Keepers, will be decided on by the community.

How Will it Work?

Minting

The Awakened kingdom will welcome a total supply of 5,000 Champions onto the Moonriver blockchain.

For early adopters and supporters, PIPS will be offering 1000 mint passes for guaranteed early access. Mint Pass holders will only need to pay gas to mint a Champion.

WenLaunch?

The exact launch date is still to be decided, but the initial launch will be split into 3 stages:

1. Pre-sale Mint Pass

5000 mint passes will be available for minting which will guarantee holders access to the initial mint.

The mint pass will hold additional future utility, as well as a power boost to help increase your daily utility token yield.

2. Champion Card & PFP Mint

The first Kingdom ‘The Awakened’ will offer 5000 unique NFT’s (to include the ‘Champion’ card and PFP versions ). You will be able to mint a max of 3 per wallet.

3. Full Deck Mint

If this wasn’t enough, once you have your Champion, you will be able to use it to mint a full 54 card deck which is unique to your Champion, including jokers!

A Teaser For The Future 👀

If all of this wasn’t enough to peak your interest then the future promises surely will.

In addition to the release of the remaining Kingdoms (Hunters, Mystics and Keepers), PIP card holders will be able to not only mint an entire deck of 54 cards (matched to the theme of their Champion card, including jokers) but have the option to receive a physical copy of their deck with plans from the project team to use select specialist printers.

Second to that, holders will be able to use their PIPS to play traditional card games (and other community generated games), and even a battle mechanism is planned to allow holders to pit their cards against one another, cross-chain.

My role with PIP Cards is as an (unpaid) advisor and contributor to their community and marketing efforts. I love what they’re doing and will follow the project with interest!
